As for our final film and I'm director, I am aloud to do whatever short film I would like. My first original idea was to create my own TV advert but due to short timing, other assignments to do etc, I thought it would be easier just to recreate a TV or a film scene. This reason why I have gone to this plan is because we can just watch back the scene back and copy their camera shots, look for a similar location etc.
I have chosen to recreate the opening scene of the TV Programme 'Hinterland'. My lecture as shown the class the opening scene and I have never seen the programme but the reason why I have chosen to recreate this is because it looks pretty straight forward as the opening scene is just a shot of the police man basically running for 30 seconds back to his caravan and then cuts to when he is inside drinking his water and his phone starts to ring and the only word he says in the scene is 'Mathias'. My group has agreed with me for recreating this as its pretty straight forward to do and also easy to copy the scene.
Hinterland is a noir crime drama set in Aberystwyth, Wales, where troubled DCI Tom Mathias solves murders while searching for redemption.
